Short Lived Cold Spell
Big temperature differences between yesterday's record shattering reading and today's chilly conditions! No doubt abut it a cold front has moved through the area. Strong northwest winds have ushered in very cold air. Tonight high pressure will build in clearing out the sky and dropping the winds. This is an excellent set up for radiational cooling. Temperatures are likely to drop below freezing in many parts of the Ozarks so a FREEZE WARNING is in effect for all of southwest Missouri tonight. Temperatures will rebound nicely on Tuesday as a southwest wind returns. Highs will top out in the lower 60s.
Spring Winds and Warmth
The rest of the work week looks pretty nice. Strong south to southwest winds will send readings back to the 70s at least. 80 is possible on Friday. There is a slight chance for showers on Thursday as weak upper level disturbance slides by the Ozarks. Winds at times could get very gusty, especially Wednesday and again Friday. Peak winds could top out well over 30 mph.
