SPRINGFIELD, Mo. -- A man got an extra surprise when his stolen car was returned. Mike Prescott says he found products that made up a mobile methamphetamine lab in the trunk. Prescott took a picture of what he discovered and called the police back to his house.
Police will not comment on the case since it is an ongoing investigation. They will say the trend of mobile meth labs isn't showing any signs of slowing down.
Prescott says he's just concerned for his family's health.
"I asked them if is this safe," Prescott said. "I always thought that the haz-mat suits was, like, overdone but, when it's in your car and you got an asthmatic daughter, I don't want to rely on me being right or wrong about it."
Springfield police say, if this turns out to be a meth lab, it would be the first time they've heard of someone using a stolen car for this purpose.
