Search for CU general manager is down to 6 candidates

March 10, 2011|edited news release

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. -- The General Manager Search Committee presented six candidates to the Board of Public Utilities, the governing board for City Utilities of Springfield, on Thursday.  The finalists will be contacted to discuss the next step in the selection process.

A decision on disclosure of the six finalists will be determined in the coming week.  The Board has set a target date of early May to announce the replacement for General Manager John Twitty, who's retiring in June.

More than 100 applications were submitted during a nationwide search.  All applications were reviewed by the General Manager Search Committee, with the assistance of consulting firm Mycoff, Fry and Prouse, and CU's Human Resources Department.  Additionally, the results of two public
input meetings conducted by a Community Advisory Group, along with online surveys for both CU employees and customers, helped provide guidance for the selection process.

The results of both the public and employee surveys, and the public input meetings, are available at the CU website.
