SPRINGFIELD, Mo. -- The countdown is on until the Missouri State Bears enter the Missouri Valley Conference Tournament as a "number one seed" for the first time.
The energy on campus isn't something you can see, until you see the fans.
"It's my first year coming to Missouri State, and it was a blast, I couldn't wish for anything more," said Freshman Scott Trudt, who saw Saturday's conference winning game.
From new Bears, to the bandwagon and the dedicated cheering section, the joy of Saturday has turned in to a serious week, including time spent securing tickets.
"As of this morning we've been getting inundated with phone calls, people wanting tickets for the weekend," said Padraic McMeel with the MSU Athletic Department.
That's kept the BearWear store busy.
"Far and away the most sought after item is the championship tshirt that the team was awarded on the floor. We've already sold well over 250 just today," said Mark Brixey, Bookstore Director.
So if you're headed to the game in St. Louis, pack whatever swag you have, because the tournament tips-off Friday, and Bears Nation can't wait.
"Seeing them win would be an amazing experience and being able to be a part of it would just...make my freshman year," said Trudt.
