February 26, 2011|KY3 News

SPRINGFIELD — As many anglers know, Missouri's trout season opens Tuesday morning.  Saturday, sportsmen and women headed to the Arc of the Ozarks to grab some fishing and hunting gear.

The Annual Hunt, Fish and Swap Meet gives folks a chance to find what they need before their next outdoor adventure.  More than 60 vendors have everything from rods and reels, to bait and tackle, to ammunition and reloading equipment.  The event even has bird dogs.

All of the money raised helps the Arc support people with disabilities.  The Arc provides residential and employment support, community integration, and recreation.  The non-for-profit serves 700 individuals in ten southwest Missouri counties.

The swap meet will wrap-up Sunday afternoon, from 1 to 4.  Admission is by donation.  The Arc of the Ozarks is at 1501 East Pythian in Springfield near Evangel University.

You can reach the Arc of the Ozarks at (417) 864-7887, or by email at info@thearcoftheozarks.org
