SPRINGFIELD, Mo. -- A woman faces charges after a stabbing at an apartment near Division Street at Benton Avenue. Adrienne Jones, 48, is charged with first-degree assault and armed criminal action.
The probable cause statement used as the basis of the charges says Jones and Ival Boles, 61, were drinking at a bar on Tuesday afternoon and then went to his apartment at 417 E. Locust St. Police say Jones told them that Boles "crossed the line" in touching her in a sexual way, so she hit him with her fist. Court documents say she then admitted that she picked up a knife and "poked" Boles with it several times.
Boles suffered multiple stab wounds to the head, chest and stomach. The detective's probable cause statement said he suffered critical injuries but was in stable condition on Wednesday morning. Police say they found the knife that Jones admitted using. They say the apartment had a large amount of blood in various areas inside Boles's bedroom.
