New Parkview HS football coach returns to Springfield from King City

February 18, 2011|by KY3 News

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. -- Pending approval of the school board, Anthony Hays will be the new head football coach at Parkview High School.  The Springfield School District announced Hays' hiring on Friday.  He would move here this summer from King City High School and replace Wes Beachler, who accepted the head football coaching job at Nevada High School.

"Anthony is recognized as one of the outstanding young coaches in the state.  Three playoff appearances during his tenure at King City are evidence of that," said Mark Fisher, the Springfield School District's athletic director.

From 2006-2008, Hays was assistant football and track coach at Kickapoo High School.  He is a graduate of Southwest Baptist University, where he obtained both his master's and bachelor's degrees.
