ky3 12 hour forecast24-hour forecastky3 24 hour forecastSatellite & Radarky3 sat radWind Chillky3 heat indexAllergy Indexky3 allergy indexAlmanacky3 almanacGood morning!  A gusty south wind, increasing low-level moisture and some clouds have kept temperatures in the 50s to near 60 this overnight.  A very strong low-level jet stream could "mix down" today and provide gusts over 40 mph at the surface.  The biggest question for today's weather is the extend of cloud cover.  Increasing moisture should lead to more clouds, but stronger winds above the surface favors more mixing in of the drier air above the cloud deck and thus more sunshine.  It's a tough call, with models showing anything from 61 to near 70.  I suspect we'll be at the warmer end of that range, and if any substantial breaks in the clouds can develop mid 70s are possible!  A cold front will head into the area tomorrow and bring highs perhaps even into the 50s for northern Ozarks counties, with low/mid 60s still over Arkansas.  We'll see more sun tomorrow to offset the front's effects, and the front will move north again on Saturday evening.  Warmer air will flow north again for the weekend before a strong cold front moves through on Monday.
