Arrested fugitive from Kansas now faces sex abuse charge in Springfield

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. -- A man arrested in Springfield on Wednesday night on an out-of-state warrant was charged on Thursday in Greene County with sexual abuse of a child under age 14.  Patrick Stewart is accused of statutory sodomy and molestation involving the daughter of a friend.  Investigators believe the abuse happened in Springfield last summer.

The Greene County Fugitive Task Force arrested Stewart at Nichols Park. He faces charges in a case in Kansas, including aggravated sodomy and kidnapping.
