FORDLAND, Mo. -- A man from Rogersville is seriously hurt after his vehicle crashed into a pond in Webster County. The accident happened on Saturday afternoon on Highway PP about five miles west of Fordland.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol says Franklin Ford, 29, was injured when his sport utility vehicle slid off the road, hit a sign and flipped into a pond. He was thrown from the vehicle and trapped underneath in about a foot of water. A farmer who was nearby kept his head above water until rescuers could remove him and airlift him to a hospital in Springfield.
