Salvation Army opens Cold Weather Shelter in Springfield MO

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. -- The Salvation Army is offering space to anyone who needs it on Tuesday night.  Its Cold Weather Shelter is open at 1717 W. Chestnut Expressway (northwest corner of Chestnut at Kansas Expressway).   It will be open until the weather breaks and the low temperature for a night is forecast to be above 15 degrees.  The Salvation Army also offers food along with shelter.

The Cold Weather Shelter has been open 25 days so far this winter.  It's served 134 people, which is an increase over last year.
