VERY NICE AFTERNOON
Temperatures shot up quickly for most of us this morning and at noon temperatures were already in the 50s for parts of Arkansas and in the upper 40s for much of southern Missouri. Highs today will show a big difference from north to south with the north side of the Ozarks only topping out in the 30s while northern Arkansas will be in the 50s.
An area of surface low pressure is moving over the area today and winds will turn to the northwest as that low moves east. A few more clouds will work in for tonight and partly cloudy skies are expected for the next several days.
CONTINUED WARMTH
Temperatures will be above average for the rest of the week and probably even the weekend. Highs by Friday should top out in the mid 50s and could still be near 50 degrees on Saturday.
NEXT CHANCE FOR WINTER WEATHER
In the meantime, we'll have to track an upper level system that will be sitting off the southwest coast of the country. It could be our next chance for winter weather by the start of next week. I expect to see a cool down by Monday with a chance for a rain/snow mix.
