Flurries or light snow is possible this morning under cloudy skies. Drier air is moving into the area behind the cold front that moved through yesterday so that should limit our snow potential today. Temperatures will be a good amount cooler this afternoon compared to yesterday. Highs should only warm into the 30s areawide as winds turn to the southeast.
LIGHT PRECIPITATION, VARIETY OF TYPES
There will continue to be a chance for light precipitation today and into tonight as an upper level disturbance moves across the center of the country. Flurries or a few sprinkles are possible today with freezing drizzle possible tonight. Temperatures look to drop a few degrees this evening but could then actually warm a bit as we head into tomorrow. Once temperatures warm to above freezing tonight, drizzle is possible.
Rain is in the forecast for tomorrow as highs warm into the low 40s with breezy southerly winds. A cold front is expected to move through late Monday and into Tuesday. It will then be cooler again for Tuesday with highs in the low 30s. Light snow is possible, especially early on Tuesday.
ACCULUMATING SNOW?
It will stay chilly through midweek and we'll have another chance for snow late Wednesday into early Thursday along another cold front. Accumulations look possible with that system. Conditions will remain on the cool side of average through the end of the week and into next weekend.
