BOULDER, Colo. - Mizzou's final trip to Boulder is one to forget.
Alec Burks scored a career-high 36 points, and added eight rebounds to lead the Colorado Buffaloes (12-4, 1-0) to a 89-76 Big 12 opener victory against the Missouri Tigers (14-2, 0-1). The win snaps a nine-game Tigers winning streak against the Buffaloes.
The Buffs controlled the game from the opening tip. Colorado raced out to an early lead behind Burks hot-hand. A 15-2 run capped off a 46-34 lead at halftime. The Buffaloes increased its lead to 18 before Missouri mounted a comeback that fell short.
Michael Dixon led the Tigers with 19 points.
Missouri opens its home portion of the Big 12 schedule Wednesday night at the Mizzou arena against Nebraska.
