Mega jackpot drawing will be New Year's Eve - $242 Million

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. -- Strong sales have pushed the Mega Millions jackpot for Friday night – New Year’s Eve – to $242 million.  This is the second-largest jackpot in the game since Missouri started selling it on Jan. 31.  The Mega Millions drawing will happen at 10 p.m. Friday night.

“The end of the year is the perfect time to dream about the changes for the New Year,” said May Scheve Reardon, executive director for the Missouri Lottery.  “Someone could wind up holding the magic ticket this New Year’s Eve.”

Players in Missouri can buy Mega Millions tickets for the drawing up to 8:59 p.m. Friday night.
