Middle school students continue annual tradition of helping Salvation Army

December 22, 2010|by KY3 News

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. -- Some students are helping to feed the needy this holiday.  Students from Reed Middle School packed Christmas dinners for The Salvation Army on Wednesday.

The Salvation Army will distribute the food to nearly 1,000 families on Thursday.  Those families will also shop for toys and winter clothing for children.

Boxing up the meals has become a holiday tradition at Reed for several years.

The Salvation Army says it's behind on donations to help families year round.  It hopes people help it meet its goal by donating to the red kettles across the Ozarks or on The Salvation Army's website.
