Cold Weather Set for the Weekend

A strong cold front will sweep through the Ozarks later tonight.  Strong northwest winds will develop behind the front and usher in much colder air over the weekend.  Temperatures will fall most of the day Saturday with readings remaining in the 30s for Missouri and low to mid 40s for Arkansas.  A few scattered snow flurries are also possible but I see little if any accumulation.

Windy and Cold

The jet stream changes its configuration and dives straight out of the north which will help to push this very cold air mass south.  The deepest of the cold air becomes entrenched for Sunday and Monday.  Highs will be in the 30s with lows in the teens and 20s.  Tuesday will be slightly warmer but not by much.

The Recovery

Warm air finally builds back into the Ozarks by late next week.  The cold northerly flow of air means that little to no rain or snow is possible for the rest of the seven day forecast.

Sunny Skies,
