SPRINGFIELD, Mo--Motorcyclists will ride on Glenstone Avenue on Sunday to collect toys for kids. It will be the first time in a couple of years for the ride to be held on the major thoroughfare. "New chief Paul Williams and the Springfield Police Officers Association made it possible to move the event back onto Glenstone Avenue," said Richard Gold, one of the ride organizers.
Last year, the ride went from Springfield to Strafford. "Several hundred participated despite the sleet that fell during the event," said Gold.
This is the 30th year for the ride which will start at Friendly Ford and head northbound to Transport Graphics at 836 N. Glenstone. It will get underway at 2:00pm. "Riders need to bring a new, unwrapped Christmas toy," said Gould.
If you're not a motorcycle rider and want to donate a new toy you can drop it off between 8:00am-5:00pm Monday-Friday at Transport Graphics.
