INTERACTIVE RADAR TRACKS THE WINTRY WEATHER

Rain will be found over South-Central Missouri and Northern Arkansas for a time this Thanksgiving Day... while cold air infiltrates the Ozarks.

You'll be able to track the wintry mix on Interactive Radar to help you through your day.

Areas shaded in green are still liquid precipitation.  But the purple-pink shades indicate a mixture of sleet or freezing rain and snow.  A blue shade indicates snow.

THE MIXED BAG ARRIVES FOR THANKSGIVING DAY

Rain and storms may continue... and for some, thundersleet may develop.  (That's not good).  While most may not see major accumulations of snow, sleet or ice... if you are caught under a storm dumping snow or sleet... you're travel plans may changes quickly.

Through the morning freezing rain, sleet and snow may mix together forming a light glaze on cold surfaces.

As of 8 a.m., Buffalo, Dallas County, MO had reported a light glazing on cold surfaces and light freezing rain.

Most roads are not expected to see any major impacts... but bridges and overpasses may become slick by the end of today.

COLDER THROUGH THE DAY

Highs have already been reached, and afternoon temperatures will only hold into the low 30s at best.  A north wind up to 25 miles per hour will create wind chills in the 10s and 20s.

Travelers should expect much colder weather the farther North you drive or fly.

Some parts of the Northern Midwest may experience blizzard conditions.  The rest of the Eastern 2/3's of the U.S. (for the most part) will be sharply colder for Turkey Day.

THANKSGIVING WEEKEND
KY3 Three Day OutlookAfter a frigid start for Black Friday... watch for a milder afternoon with plenty of sunshine.  Saturday and Sunday temperatures will reach into the mid 50s and should be nothing short of wonderful, especially compared to our present Thanksgiving weather.

Stay warm, stay dry... and Happy Thanksgiving!
