SPRINGFIELD, Mo. -- There will be a new way to work off some of that guilt from your Thanksgiving feast this year. It's called the 5k Gone Bad.
Unlike most foot races, this one will have stations where you stop and do push-ups or kettle bell swings or even overhead walking lunges. The average person should finish this race in a little more than a half-hour.
While you're getting fit, you will be helping ex-NFL great Grant Wistrom help kids fight cancer.
"We just try to impact lives in any way we can," Wistrom said. "We just don't want to work with the patient either. We try to work with the entire family because when somebody's sick with cancer. It's not just the child who suffers; the whole family suffers in some way, shape or form."
The 5K Gone Bad is Saturday, Nov. 27. It will be at Crossfit on Sunset Street, just west of Kansas Expressway. Registration is $35.
