MO Governor bags buck as deer firearms season begins

Governor Nixon donated 8-pointer to food bank

KAHOKA, Mo. - Missouri Governor Jay Nixon hit the woods Saturday to kick off deer firearms season.

He bagged an 8-point buck Saturday morning during his hunt in Clark County.

Nixon donated the venison to a local food bank under the Share the Harvest program.


More than 2-million pounds of venison were donated to families in need during the last firearms season.
