LEPANTO, Ark. - Some Pelphrey persuasion is paying off for the Arkansas Razorbacks basketball program.
Head coach John Pelphrey has landed what many call his top target of the 2010-2011 recruiting class with the commitment of point guard Rashad "Ky" Madden. The 6'4" Lepanto (East Poinsett County High School) standout chose Arkansas over Ole Miss and Baylor.
Rivals.com rates Madden as the country's sixth best guard and 27th overall prospect in the class of 2011. Scout.com rates him as its 30th overall prospect.
Madden joins fellow Hogs commits Hunter Mickleson of Jonesboro High School, Aaron Ross of Little Rock Parkview High School and B.J. Young of McCluer North High School in St. Louis. Recruiting services list each among the country's top 100 players.
Madden, Mickleson and Ross teamed up this summer to lead the Arkansas Wings to the under-17 National AAU Championship.
Pelphrey isn't done yet. Arkansas is expected to sign at least five in the early signing period later this year to complete what's expected to be a top ten class.
