Good morning! Clear skies are going to make for another splendid fall day in the Ozarks with highs reaching the middle 70s this afternoon. The wind will be quite light and vary in direction today, making it one of the pick days of the week. Actually, there isn't a bad day coming at us, really. A wave of upper energy is moving into the northern plains this morning and will join the large trough over the eastern US. This will bring a cold front through the region tonight with nothing more than a few clouds. The wind will increase again from the north for Thursday but temperatures won't drop more than a few degrees. We'll continue to see very pleasant temperatures on Saturday with plenty of sun. Another wave of upper energy will move into the trough and cause it to expand late Saturday into Sunday. This will send a wave of chilly air through the midwest and at least part of the Ozarks. Highs will likely only reach the low 60s on Sunday with temperatures dropping into the low 40s on Monday morning. The pattern aloft will remain locked in for the foreseeable future though it may flatten a bit by next week. By that I mean the jet stream may turn more west-to-east instead of north-to-south but the dry streak is likely going to last at least another two weeks.
