2 quarts of apple cider (or apple juice)
1/2 cup of packed light brown sugar
4 cinnamon sticks
8 whole cloves
1/2 teaspoon of nutmeg
1/2 teaspoon of cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon of cayenne pepper
1 orange, thinly sliced
1/2 cup of dried cranberries
In a medium sized stock pot, sauté the oranges, cranberries, cinnamon and spices for two minutes. Add two cups of cider and add the brown sugar. Simmer for another two minutes. Add the remainder of the cider and let mixture simmer for 10 minutes. Serve with cranberries and orange slices.
